Today may read more like a diary entry than a blog post, but it’s in my heart. And the beautiful thing about writing is the ability to express your heart. I want to tell you about a woman who inspires me. She is truly stylish, and carries herself with grace. She inspires me to love others and share the love of the Lord. While at my baby’s first birthday, I overheard someone comment, “That’s Hope’s Aunt Michelle, she’s got style.” I’ve been thinking about that ever since. Because style doesn’t even begin to cover it.
She has selflessly devoted the last year of her life to taking care of my grandparents, uprooting herself from a big city, moving to a small town (guys, it doesn’t even have a Target!), three hours away from her children and grandchildren. She has traveled to support me multiple times since my baby was born, helping to fill the hole in our family that my mother’s death left. She has a generous, beautiful heart. I want to be like her when I grow up. I want to carry myself the way she does, volunteer in my church and community like she does, and graciously share my time, efforts, and resources like she does.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, “Thank you Aunt Michelle, for adding so much joy, love, and style to our family. Thank you for all you do to bless and testify to those God has placed in your life. I love you more than any blog can say, but this is my humble attempt at saying so. Oh—and JT told me to tell you he misses you!”
And guys, she has KILLER fashion sense.
Beauties, I loved writing this! I think I will make these nods to the style icons in my life a regular occurrence. Who would you nominate for their own "style bio"?
